TURN-OVER OF
NEGROS ORIENTAL and SIQUIJOR PROVINCES

It was a sunny day in Dumaguete City.
Two Regional Directors meet.
The beginning of the future of the Visayas Group of Islands has come . . .
The Visayas Islands has been grouped into 3 Regions.
Region 6 - Regional Office at Iloilo City Panay, Negros Occidental
Reguion 7 - Regional Office at Mandaue City Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental, Siquijor
Region 8 - Regional Office at Tacloban City Leyte, Samar, Biliran
On January 26, 2012 Regional Director Robert S. Mondoñedo turned-over Negros Oriental and Siquijor provinces to Regional Director Fabiolita P. Ferraris in a conference held at Dumaguete City Post Office, Negros Oriental.
The turn-over was witnessed by the following officials:
Region 7:
Cerlinda J. Paculob, Director-Administrative and Finance Division
Benito P. Quiros, Director-Operations Division
Joseph C. Gido Pagaran, Postal District Manager-Negros Oriental and Siquijor District
All Postmasters of Negros Oriental and Siquijor District
Region 6:
Arlyn Cababasay, Postal District Manager
Richie Cardiel, Postal District Manager
Beginning February 1, 2012 Region 6 and the two additional provinces (Negros Oriental and Siquijor) will become the Western Visayas Area headed by RD Ferraris while the reimaining provinces of Region 7 (Cebu and Bohol) will be merged with Region 8 becoming the Central and Eastern Visayas Area headed by RD Mondoñedo.
RD Mondoñedo will proceed to Tacloban City for the Turn-Over of Region 8 on February 1, 2012.
Immediately following the turn-over, a Briefing Conference with the officials of Region 8 will be held on February 2, 2012 at the Conference Room of Tacloban City Post Office.
All these changes come as the initial phase of the implementation of the Rationalization Plan (RAT Plan) in the Philippine Postal Corporation.
Expect more things to happen as the RAT plan will stir full speed ahead !
